Dr. Lok Shandilya is a medical professional and is the Founder and President of GHE. After retiring from active medical practice, Dr. Shandilya has rejuvenated his mission to educate and bring awareness regarding health-related issues, prevention and self-management of chronic diseases among indigent patient population who do not have easy access to medical care in the United States and in rural India. In addition to Dr. Shandilya, GHE Volunteers provide invaluable services during Free Health Screening Camps and also in the Free Health and Wellness Clinic in Richmond, VA.

GHE is now providing free Primary Medical Services to poor and uninsured patients in the Greater Richmond, VA area The prevention and care of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), like Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart disease, Obesity and Anemia is generally overlooked in the medically underserved areas according to the World Health Organizations (WHO).
